We went to Fort Edmonton Park today where they had a spring carnival going on. What an amazing place to take a kid! We'd been there before in various seasons but had never realized what fun a child even Claire's age can have there. In addition to the fort and historical streets with businesses, churches and residences, they have a 1920 midway (complete with an amazing carousel, a puppet theatre and a few games and kiddie rides), a huge train, a couple of trams, several horse-drawn carriages and stagecoaches, and lots of animals.
Claire had her first taste of bannock and minutes later, as I was taking a picture of Claire and Paul inside the fort, she repeately gave me the sign for "eat". She definitely liked the bannock!
Just after Claire's first taste of bannock ...
And already wanting more (look closely - she's signing "eat").
Claire was really excited to watch the carousel but once she was on it, she was pretty serious. She didn't seem scared or anything but she wasn't very smiley either.
Claire loved seeing the horses throughout the park.

Isn't that a great place?
I LOVE Claire's hat, she looks absolutely adorable! And I think she really should have a pony, don't you?
xxoo
I'm sure the day will come when Claire does ask for a pony! Yeesh.
Lovely pics of Daddy and his girl. We're going to get the pass that covers Fort Ed, Zoo, Muttart etc. because they really are fun places to visit. Maybe we can do some together sometime.
Cute pictures! I loved Fort Edmonton Park when I visited a few years ago. So much to do. It must be very exciting to finally be visiting these places with your little girl!
