It's hard to believe that Claire's friends - and that Claire herself in a month - are turning two! Today, Ava turned two. Here she is at her home yesterday:
We were thrilled to also share a meal with Ava's family on her actual birthday, today.
James found a great hotpot place in Chinatown. Athough it doesn't offer individual hotpots like we had our first night as a group in China, it was definitely a great find! Claire and Ava sat opposite each other, and once the hotpots were in place (we had two), it didn't look like they could see each other. No matter - they partied after their meals! Here they are with Helena reacquainting themselves:
In no time, the girls were running through the restaurant, giggling, tickling, jumping and kissing. But I managed to capture a few of their more sedate moments.
As always, Helena was the big sister every girl would want. You can see how much she truly enjoys her little sis, and she extends that same enthusiasm to Claire each time she sees her.
Ava was a proud two-year old, confidently answering "two" with a shake of the head every time she was asked her age. She was also talking up a storm, which was really fun to hear.
It was an honour to be invited to Ava's birthday meal. In the short time we've known Ava, Beth, James and Helena, I somehow feel like we've become part of each other's extended families. Here's the gang (minus Helena) during our meal.
Thank you again, Beth and James, for including us in your daughter's special celebration. We had a wonderful time!

The girls are sooo adorable..
Happy 2 Birthday...
Have a Great Week..
Can't believe that Claire will be 2 soon...
My how time flies..
Great pics Monica. We're still working on getting the pics and video together, hopefully I can get it posted tonight. Last night missy was up until the wee hours (I think it was the teething tablets I gave her, caffeine in there perhaps?) so I didn't get anything on the blog. J worked on the video, and I'm not sure if he emailed people a link or we'll post the link on the blog. We had a great time too - watching those two(three) is so fun!
What a great party! It brings back memories of the Good-bye China birthday party that we had last year.
How wonderful that you were able to share Ava's special day with her. The girls look like they enjoyed each other's company immensely.
I still find it hard to believe all the girls will be two soon. Thanks for sharing these pix, we sure wish we could have been there, too! All three girls look beautiful and it looks like everyone was having a great time.
The hotpot place sounds interesting...maybe Shea and I should get brave and make a road trip to Edmonton this summer and we can all go hotpotting!!
What fun! I'm glad you were able to be together, although I wish we could've been there too. The girls look adorable together. I'm happy to see big sister Helena with the girls too.
I'm always up for a road trip, Rae. I'd love to check out the hotpot restaurant. What memories it would bring back.
